I watched in the state of Pa as floods hit in late September. This tree showed signs of falling before the floods. The flooding was so bad that the water was at least four foot above the land area. Why it hasn't fallen only God knows.

It does look as though it's going to fall any minute doesn't it Vic?. I guess that's why they call them "mighty oaks". I just love this photo. The clarity is just wonderful in this.Sharp as a pin.

Nice shot there Vic, it's just not ready yet to give up. Looks pretty old heck in it's prime it probably had civil war soldiers sittin' in it's shade.

Hi Vic, this is so pretty and the story about the tree surving the floods is really amazing! It appears as though the tree is unable to sustain life and is still standing, under such horrific conditions! Nature has a awesome way of showing us perseverance, doesn't it? Smiling! The beautiful calming river, surrounded by gorgeous green trees is a very pleasant place to be and one in which we might just ponder for awhile! A lovely photo Vic, and I will be back to visit, OK?
