Still don't know much about horses. Please tell me. Another summer picture. The horse has a curl. Does it make it a girl horse. Vic

It looks like a draft horse of some sort Vic..like was used for farming years ago. Possibly a Belgian Draft horse. Big and stong animals!! Look at the size of those hooves! Nice shot of him. ( p.s. I think it's a male..curl or no! lol)

the nose is interesting, too. i have no idea what kind of horse it is, but you did a good job of photographing it.

It looks like a percheron, probably a draft horse. I like these mighty horses, hor big and strong they are. Great shot of him. :)

Hmmm...Clydesdales ideally have a longer leg and do not have the Roman nose; Percherons are usually gray or black, again no Roman nose; Suffolk Punches do not have the bald face and are a bright chestnut in color; Belgian Drafts do not have that much "feather" on their legs; Russian Heavy draft is a relatively new breed and, while it matches fairly well, it doesn't seem to be well known outside Russia...I'm stumped! Bet it is an elderly Clydesdale or a Clydesdale mix with a non-standard Roman nose.

Well, you've been pointed down the right identification direction, it seems and that means also that you've taken a nice, clear pic of this beauty.

Maybe it's a Breton? I was wondering that before I even saw the question - it came up in the voting booth, and instead of thinking of a figure for it, I was trying to work out what breed it was!

I would say it's a Shire or then a bit short-legged Clydesdale. Or then something more exotic or a cross... Well, Breton is not a bad guess, either.

Well Vic, I sure learned a whole lot about draft horses. Thank you for that and for a lovely horse photo.
