I think it needs some cropping... Having said that, this is a lovely, soft shot of a beautiful rose...

The reason why the sunsets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

ROSE THORNS

Rose bush thorns
Sharp and piercing:
Touched once, you'll bleed.

Elongated, thin spikes
Lost in the Sun.
Bare, frigid looking, dangerous, alone, reaching.

Birds ignore.
Insects stay away
Only until flowers bloom
On a hot summer day.


As quickly as they come
Flowers disappear.
Beauty for an instant bright.
A flash of light.
A luscious sight.

Barren again
For another year.
Alone will wait the stems
For the roses to appear.
