This is a rework of one of Paul Gerritsen lion photographs, "Say Cheeeese". This particular photo has been an inspiration to me in the production of two distinct oil paintings: the first oil was painted on wood, "Lion on Wood"; and this second oil, "Say Cheeeese ... the Oil", (shown above) was painted on a large canvas. I would, at this point in life, not be able to put down to canvas the essence of life and catch the light, character and facial expressoion that I value so much in your work!

CORPORATE AMERICA
Smells of death while
beast breaths loudly,
stretching front paws,
yawning and laying in wait.
Creature half dead see's
Darkness over valley as
shadow jumps viciously,
dying happens quickly and
pride follows silently
fighting for bones.
Lion sits and yawns.
Hunger never quenched
not picking remains.
