Picture of Cone Flowers from our garden. Can you see the bee? I didn't! I really took a chance to get this shot. ///////////Victor

They are beautiful coloured flowers and good detail. It's too bad the bugs have gotten to the delicate pedals. Lovely shot & yes I see the bee, just be careful Vic

Our integrity sells for so little, but it's all we really have. It's the very last inch of us and within that inch, we are free. -V

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

ROSE THORNS

Rose bush thorns
Sharp and piercing:
Touched once, you'll bleed.

Elongated, thin spikes
Lost in the Sun.
Bare, frigid looking, dangerous, alone, reaching.

Birds ignore.
Insects stay away
Only until flowers bloom
On a hot summer day.

As quickly as they come
Flowers disappear.
Beauty for an instant bright.
A flash of light.
A luscious sight.

Barren again
For another year.
Alone will wait the stems
For the roses to appear.
