These ships seen enough death before they were retired. I remember so much and I was not allowed to to say where I had served for 10 Years. I am old now but i remember.===========Victor

my old dad used to serve in the Royal Navy!..ended up as a petty officer!

Fletcher class destroyer. The Navy built hundreds of them during and after WW II. I spent two weeks on one in 1971 (DD 734, USS Purdy). Shallow bottoms (to avoid some torpedoes), NO FUN to ride in rough weather but speed demons--could do 35 knots. USS Laffey.
