Fletcher class destroyer. The Navy built hundreds of them during and after WW II. I spent two weeks on one in 1971 (DD 734, USS Purdy). Shallow bottoms (to avoid some torpedoes), NO FUN to ride in rough weather but speed demons--could do 35 knots. USS Laffey.
