This could benefit from some Gamma correction. There's much more detail in the foreground and mountains than is visible here. It's also quite dramatic in B&W, and looks like there's more air traffic than you saw on the road. Nice shot either way.
A bush, tree or rock in the foreground would also add to the perspective but I've traveled that road and know they're in short supply.
