This picture of my Nephew was taken at the Milwaukee County Zoo during their Trick or Treat festivities. It is my favorite picture of him, taken with a 35mm Minolta 9000. While I enjoy photography immensely, I am a complete novice and would appeciate anyones feedback.

I was a bit nervous till I realized there was glass( or something) between them.
I think you did a fine job.

Nice shot. Only thing is the reflection shows the glass. If you can photoshop this out then this would make more of an impact and keep people guessing as to wether there is something between them or not. Great shot and well done.

Really nice memorable photo. Along with above suggestions, I would add cloning out the human figure in the background. I think the pink clothing draws attention away from the main subjects, so is a little distraction.

Nice pic.. if it wasn't for the very slight reflection I would have thought he was standing beside the tiger..

I saw your request and see you Digital Image (DI), I use that too quite a lot of the time.. I would suggest you download the program "Neat Image" (freeware) as that gets rid of grain..

I have downloaded your pic and messed around with it...

Here are my suggestions:

Clone out the pink person in the background with the clone tool (enlarge the pic in DI makes it easier)also clone out the reflection (that will take the longest because of the markings)

I adjusted the shadow to 18 (brings out the colour more)

Then I went into "Neat Image" to rid the slight grain
* Noise Filtre Settings
Noise level... High +5

* Noise Reduction Amount
High 40%
Mid 85%
Low 85%

Other more experience members will probably be able to help you more. I've emailed you my adjustments so you can see the difference..

Looking forward to seeing more of your work

You guys (and gals and others if appropriate ;-) )are terrific!! Next question, is there a way to blend the stone wall over the glass frame to really give the illusion he is right next to the tiger?

Yes, you can either crop or clone out that portion. If you invest in a polarizing filter you can eliminate almost all of the reflections also. I have a question for you now. What are they both looking at? Interesting shot!

Intersetingly enough, I by blind luck managed to capture an angle that makes them both appear to be looking in the distance. Mark is actually watching the tiger quite intently, and the tiger is staring...just staring...as big cats do!
