Some 30 miles East of Cumberland, Maryland they blasted the top off a mountain to create the road on the left, all to save drivers 8 miles. The cost? Almost 100 million dollars and these permanent scars to the mountain...

Maybe the money would have been better spent finding alternative fuels. Eight miles doesn't seem that far unless the fuel prices keep climbing. First they clean out the bowels of mountains then they alter their features. Is there no shame. Nice post RP. Like the sentiment and the coloring with a super angle. Good work.
