Ok, ok, I wish it wasn't on an urban street to, but sometimes we take what we can get. Due to the extraordinarily warm autumn we've had here in SE Wisconsin almost none of the trees have changed yet. Except, that is, this one right across the street from my house. Weather be darned, it is going to change. He seems to revel in his own unique style and colors. That's why I've nicknamed him...'Les'. That's a compliment, just so there's no misunderstanding. Honest comments and critiques please. ;-)

Yeah, i think the tree itself is very cool. But I am with you on the urban setting. Would be a lot nicer if it were out of the city but nonetheless it is a spectacular tree. Very beautiful, one that deserves to be captured. thanks for sharing.

Well, he certainly is unique and stands out from the rest! You're right about taking your color where you find it! Looks like you live on a really nice street.

:oD

Compliment received and understood. :o)

Now then ... your image here.

One of the first thing that strikes me or caught my attention, aside from the vibrant colours ... are the lines present in your image.

Those being that of the converging lines, literally ... of the road and the curbs. Sets up the composition well in the lower portions.

Thoughts? A slightly lower perspective (get out the gardening clothes and get down and dirty) might work towards accentuating those elements.

If you could get the cooperation of da' hood ... use of the repetitive shapes of piles of leaves at the curbsides ... might be interesting as well.

Another possibility, might be to photograph our outstanding 'friend', in and amongst his bretheren and sisters ... from below and looking up, using that wonderful blue sky for the backdrop.

Bit more of an abstract image might result ... still, that glorious colour would be present and accounted for.

Good clarity, very nice colour ... good composition Rich. You do show in your photo here, the aforethought prior to pressing the shutter release.

And I thank you for sharing this one with us; the sentiment contained, stimulating my own creativity ... as well as, your own creative efforts behind the lens. :o)

If Les' last name was Moore he would be a Oxymoron. lol. Good shot and I think the talking tree just about covered everything. After the leaves fall, it will have completed the job. I do like urban shots like this. Give a feel of where you live.

I am still laughing at Twinks remarks. I do miss the offtopic.

Good post GBR and you take what you have available. You did good.

Yea, just like around here -- pretty soon that one will "infect" all the others into showing their colors, too!

A tease of the fall to come! I see no problem with the image of the urban street, it is a very nice, peaceful capture.

A beautiful capture Rich. This is how Minnesota looked a few weeks ago. I have no idea if the trees have turned color yet ... shall see for myself tomorrow. I like how the red maple contrasts with the shades of green ... nice depth too. Very well done.
