Lately I have become fascinated by returning to the same spot and taking pictures of the changing seasons...(I heard that guys, and I think "obsession" is a somewhat strong word thank you very much!). We frist saw this spot about 7 weeks ago, in Autumnn, and about a month ago in early early winter. This was taken December 26th. In the last month we had alomst 40 inches of snow in the suburbs. The last coating came on the 24th and left the road snow packed and slick, with tall banks of plowed snow on the side of the road. Honest comments and critique please.

I go back to the same places too, Rich. No matter how many pictures I take of the same place, they are never the same. That road looks kinda slick. It's a beautiful winter scene, but I can wait a little longer for it to snow that much around here. We've had very little snow, but a lot of ice.

if you look at the tyre tracks on this.....The Caedes logo matches up with them! to extend them...

Was that planned then?...

Like you, I return to the same places often!....there is always something different to see!..

Rich ... I know what you mean about the word 'obsessed'. I've done the same thing too ... keep going back to the same location over & over again.

I'm enjoying the light & dark contrasts. I'm still wondering what's beyond that curve to the left. Great textures in the snow as well as the detail on the trees. A wonderful wintery capture & I've had my share of snow also except half of it has melted from the weekend thaw.

I am glad you explained the GBRx3. I was about to call 911 and have someone check on you to see if you were stuck. Glad to see you are not. Since the price of petro is down, I return to a lot of places as well.

I like this because it does show something a little different in each one. I will look forward to your spring shot of this.

Suggestions: Watch "As Good As It Gets" with Jack Nicholson.

That does look like a solid sheet of ice. Brrrrrrrrr!!! This is a really great shot but it looks to cold. That is why I live further south than you do Rich.

I'm personally hoping that obsession is an early stage of satisfaction! Happy New Year! Have a great one, Rich.

A good job on the cold looking winter scene Rich. I guess you had to put the snow chains on the Harley to go out and get this shot.

I can see why you've become fascinated with this lovely place. As well as the images you capture there are diverse with each change of weather and season. I enjoy these lovely trees, the nice contrasts and curve in the road.

No Rich, not obsessive, progressive! This is what it takes and that's why you're continually improving. It's good to photograph the same scene again and again at different times of day, in different weather, different seasons AND different angles. This is a great image with just a couple things that could improve. Watch that horizon line in the center of the image. I think the whole image could be punched up with brightness and contrast without losing any detail. A beautiful shot. Very moody. I wonder if our photographs are indicative of our state of mind? Reflective, searching, waiting, mystified...Keep shooting. Happy New Year, anne :-) P.S. my new years tip for all, go have some fun with your new gear you got for Christmas. Do some things you rarely or never do. If you always shoot scenics, go shoot macros (or as close up as you can get.) Practice on different subjects, try new lighting techniques, bracket your shots (shoot the same image at different exposures and different apertures), get down low and shoot from your back, your belly, and your knees. Bend, twist, lean and climb up on things. Shoot toward the sky (carefully - blown out sunlight is NOT attractive :-) Just do something different and amaze yourself then share with us :-) Love you Caedians. I'll do it too, okay?

Tell me if you like it or don't but be sure to tell me why! I promise to always give honest and sincere (albeit gentle when necessary) critiques.

This photo has a classic feel to it. Nicely composed. I like the feeling of darkness at the top of the photo and lightness in the bottom. Cool pic.
