Very interesting capture, Rob. This is totally an alien for me. Is that some kind of fungus? Anyways finely taken photo.

Rob, I was up way too late last night watching a movie called "Splice". It wasn't a particularly good movie but featured some genetically altered specimens. Naturally the experiments went awry and they set up the last scene so that there will be a "Splice 2" if anybody actually paid to see "Splice" in the first place.

My point is that this reminds me of the two original experiments that were so promising. One was male and one was female and loved each other dearly. To twist the plot the female became a male and they fought and savagely killed each other in front of a share holders' meeting in a gory blood bath.

Thank you for this posting. I'm in the midst of a fast before I go in for blood work. I can honestly say that after 15 hours, I have no appetite at all now and will never eat mushroom soup again. Congratulations. You should have saved this for the next contest "#@&*'ing Gross.

To me it looks like a shroom growing on trees or tree roots. Beautiful textures and colors.

I have to agree with Tick on this one. I dont think it would even make a good tea. But it does make for a fine photo.
