Rob, I wonder why this 'house' (please notice the quotes) wasn't condemned to be uninhabitable. In such situation a sign 'onbewoonbaar verklaarde woning' (Dutch language for 'house that was already condemned for being uninhabitable') was placed to prevent that it was squatted. It's good that you've posted this image, as it shows that the world isn't only a fairy tale world where butterflies and bumble bees to their magic. We have from time to time to face such cruel reality, even in our rich world.

It's so sad to see a house like this in such disarray - I have to agree with Cornelius that it should be condemned and unfortunately, your image shows the unpleasant reality in life.
Now here is an entrance with personality! I love the transom window above the door and it even has a reflection of the clouds in it for Your photo. The brick has that aged patina that is so popular and sought after today. The 3/4 window alongside the door is puzzling - I wonder what the architect was thinking there. This historic structure could be restored and possibly placed on the historic register Rob. Great find.
What strikes me here is that nobody so far paid any special attention to the surrealistic appearance of the doorway. The clouds in blue sky look so completely out of this world portrayed in this picture and yet so real. This is one very thought-provoking image for one thing and most artistic vision for another. HOWGH Congratulations, dear SOR. SAM & SAAB
I like all the different shapes and angles in this old building plus the textures in the brick work and it sure as a lot of colour for a old building too.And it is sad that it is not going to be restored so some one else could have a home .
