I would say this has been your most challenging colorization and you did an outstanding job, Rob. I can almost feel the heat. The worker looks like a conductor leading his orchestra.
Superb once again.

Wow! Excellent colorization of this image, Rob.

The building is now used as an art gallery, and space for some non-profit organizations. In the years after the brass works closed, significant environmental cleanup was required. Some information about the early days of the company:

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Having been a machinist and having seen far too many machine shop injuries, these old school industrial pictures make me cringe. Brass melts at a little over 1,650F and would make a very unpleasant shower if any of that rig broke and dropped the crucible back into the melt. Skilled craftsmen who spent years perfecting their technique still got hurt, if not by their own hand, then someone else's. At the very least, you always wear eye protection. Always. No exceptions. And in this case, face and full body protection would have been nice too. But people were more expendable then, and deaths or injuries were a minor, one-time expense. Not years of litigation or huge payouts caused by company callousness. The colorizing works brilliantly though and really brings this small vision of hell to life.
