She might have been a neighbor of Mrs. Myrtle Higgins Rob. Seems the Army decided to expand Fort Drum. The LeRay Mansion is located there.

I really enjoy how your colorization's makes us curious for information regarding the original photo. To me that's what an artist does when he stirs the imagination of the viewer. You definitely do that. Mrs Carrie Ward has the lines of living all over her face. Your colorization really makes them stand out. Another great work.

Rob, I think that Mrs. Carrie Ward was forced to move out of the area to a Sandy Creek area because it was taken over by the Army. WWII could be a reason for that.
I think to see in this portrait that she has life experience, but also that she has accepted this 'fait accompli'. Your perfect coloring has contributed to my assessment. My appreciation for that, my friend!
