The Library of Congress Human Junk 1912 I claim no rights other than colorizing this image if you wish to use let me know and always give due credit to The Library of Congress I have no commercial gain in publishing this image. Title Human Junk. A product of the mill (See #2963) "Ben workin fer 10 years. Began when I was six years old for 5 cents a day. Lately I was workin $1.25 a day but got to spittin blood and had to quit." He was truely "scrap[p]ed" and of little use to himself or the world. Roy Hammett, Spartanberg, S.C. He looks so young to be thrown on the scrap pile Rob. I hate to think of how many people were used up to insure production for the mills and mines.
Labor laws are good and so are the unions.

Rob, when we talk about slavery, it's associated with the bad things what white people have done to people of color in the past. But this is slavery too!
I feel sick when I read what this man had to undergo. This has nothing to do with human dignity anymore.
Although it's a situation of the past (more than a hundred years ago), but today certain places in the world are still engaged in such activities. For me it is a touching and thought provoking image. With your perfect way of colorization you have achieved that the raw reality is emphasized. Very good work again, 👍 !
