The lady on the left seems to be holding a pencil. She is standing under a sign which is advertisement for Malta India, Malta India, which I have found out is a non-alcoholic, carbonated malt beverage from Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic. So, I wonder why this sign is on the side of this particular building.

I also noticed that our pencil packing lady is the only person in the picture wearing shoes. So, Is this a minor store in the hills which she may own or operate and the other lady and two little girls are visiting relatives or customers?

It is fun coming up with a back story. Right or probably wrong.

Beautiful colouring. They all look rather subdued especially the older lady. I worry about their poor feet on that littered ground !

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Coloring is perfect. My husband (born in 1943) was the only child who had a pair of shoes in the small village in southern Greece (his Dad was a teacher) and he never wore them when playing with the other kids, did not want to make them feel bad ... times sure have changed. Always appreciate your selection of colors in this process, gives us much to appreciate in the scenes.

Great work, Rob! Times looked tough back then and I don't think they have changed a lot in many places.
