Russ, "Honeybee #2" is a testimony to your skill as a photographer and to your bravery in standing in long enought to get the shot.

I know I would have been bitten long before I could have gotten a picture with such excellent focus and detail.

I've only been stung once, when I was a child. Now, being among many bees doesn't bother me at all. They never show any interest in or try to land on me. They're very focused and single-minded about their business. The arboretum where I shoot these also has bumblebees and some of those are very large jet black ones. Those I give much more respect and distance. They're quite intimidating up close. The same goes for wasps & hornets of all kinds.
