My Christmas bee. And it's pollen, not snow. The bee did act drunk though, but wouldn't stop eating the stuff. It was moving very slowly (for a bee) and let me get in nine shots, of which two or three are worth showing. This was the first. I've also changed this to my entry for the contest, it seems more suited to the theme of an insect's viewpoint. Apologies to those I confused the first time around.

Truly incredible macro's Russ. The limits of DOF in macro shots, right. A continuing frustration. We do what we can, with with what we got.

The details and colors are just perfect. The steel of the flower look like crystals.
After staring at the full view... the first thing I did (without a second thought) was hitting the Art council button.

Thank you both. They look kind of cuddly, like flying plush toys, don't they?

Fascinating close up. Some how less threatening with the speckled details through the photo.

Thank you everyone, I really appreciate all the feedback.

I don't ever feel threatened by bees, no matter how close I get to them. And in most cases, it's really close, about 2-3 inches from the front lens.

A great entry and could have finished higher in the contest. Congrats on the 4th place finish.
