A small variety of Hibiscus at the arboretum. Shot with the Canon 180mm macro lens & a ring flash. This new lens seems to be even sharper and stronger in contrast than the 100mm, and that's saying something. This is a very cool lens.

Another nice thing about the 180mm lens is its reduced angle of view versus the 100mm. It means with the 180mm I can shoot between obstacles, and have less background clutter too. The downside is having to stand farther back than when using the 100mm, and sometimes there just isn't room for that. It can be a balancing act, like for this shot, taken on a steep hillside.
