That is a neat composition, dear Russ. From my point of view it looks as if this is slightly, but really slightly, just a tad, tiny bit manipulated ... :) Lovely little short-sighted fly. SAM & SAAB
Thank you, everyone. I'm glad you enjoyed the shot.
Marzena, color saturation & contrast were boosted while processing the RAW file. And the jumping spider was selectively sharpened over the rest of the picture, which is probably why it looks manipulated. Because it is. Thanks for the heads-up about overdoing it. I'll learn from that.
Had I known it was a spider ...?! Forgot to count them legs, my fault, silly woman. Hereby I withdraw my positive attitude from the comment ! LOL Horror monster that needs specs badly because it is getting blind and thus likely to attack me or my sweet little Boris - yes! Spiders are my obsession... :)
Thank you both for the comments. I'm in partial agreement with you about spiders. Face to face, they can give me the creeps too. But, that doesn't mean I'll stop shooting them or admiring the excellent work of other macro photographers who do. And jumping spiders are really fascinating things to watch, not just for their apparent intelligence, but they're also some of the most colorful creatures in the animal kingdom.
