Looking south toward San Simeon, California. The first cluster of hills in the center is where Hearst Castle is located. This is a composite of three shots using the Canon TS-E 24mm f/3.5L II tilt/shift lens. Taken April 3rd, 2014 while on a road trip going north on California's coast Highway 1. Most tourists were stopped right at the base of the hills, and it was a great view, but I wanted a wider perspective.

Your presentation here with the format is so eye appealing. You did everything right for this beautiful image Russ. I have never been to San Simeon, but have been on that coastal highway many times when I lived out there, mostly north of there in the Half moon bay area. Tigs♥ =^..^=

Very Good Composition, I don't see any lines where it might be overlapped. Clear detail. has the illusion of flying above the water towards the far mountains.

Thank you, everyone. I'm happy you liked it. I try to take at least 3-4 sets of three shots while in Manual mode, just varying the shutter speed. Also underexposing about half a stop to deepen the color. The essential part is that the sensor can't move. If everything works, only parallax has to corrected for and the pieces fit together almost seamlessly.

The trip was at times exciting, gratifying, boring, lonely, sad and wonderful. I nearly had a fatal fall too, and just by luck didn't wind up with a fractured skull, or worse. That was farther up the road though. I generally don't value my pictures as much if I don't put some blood & sweat into them. It's just my thing I guess.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
