Dedicated to my wonderful cousin Janice, who found this view for me. Facing east somewhere in El Dorado County, California on a lovely Saturday afternoon, April 12th 2014. This is a three shot composite taken from a tripod with a Canon TS-E 24mm f/3.5L II tilt/shift lens on a 6D body. Both tilt and shift were used. Tilt allows the extreme foreground plants to be in focus as well as the distant trees. Shift increases the angle of view by just over 8 degrees to either side, or up & down. Either way, the combined image size is increased by 60% over a single shot. I just happen to prefer horizontal panoramas. An iPad Air was also indispensable as a focus & exposure guide while Wi-Fi linked with the 6D. It makes pictures like this not just possible, but fun too. The merge was done using Pixelmator, not Photoshop. The latest Apple OS upgrade killed off my Photoshop CS2. Grrrrr Thanks to +purmusic for suggesting Pixelmator as an alternate to Photoshop. The panel above was put together using it. Credit to Walt Whitman too.
