And.. but, of course.. thanks for sharing this one with us. :o)
p.s. You might have jumped the creative gun on the next site Contest.. as Vanishing Point as the topic and as of this writing, is in the lead.
And your piece here.. immediately brought it to mind.
Takes a short time, before the light of the coming day depicted here.. releases it's visual hold and you take in the rest of your very clean (that's a good good thing) render here.
'Entrancing'.. might be the operative descriptors for me. Save that of the somber note of the silhouette on the crest (again, my thoughts and initial reactions to viewing).
... ...
Well.. you kind of got a 'critique' from me in the latter part above.
Thank you both for the wonderful feedback. I really appreciate it.
My artist friend Terry tells me I compose my pictures too symmetrically, and this would be one of those examples. I've always been a big fan of the receding hallway effect in movies, and often find myself incorporating a variation of it in my renders. The challenge of creating depth and perspective in an otherwise flat image only helps when it's time to go out and photograph the real world.
Makes me feel I got up early for this scene! I like the distant moon... it doesn't try to take over the image, but it's there when you look for it, like in real life. The best thing about the picture is the bright warm light just spilling over the ridge... you only have to wait for a bit, and the cold will lose its grip.
I always collect your wallpapers when I see them arrive... a must for my screen!
Thank you Sandra, that means a lot to me. I like to create places that are welcoming and that I'd like to visit. Without an interesting scene, it won't last long as anyone's desktop. I'm working on another mountain, big sky & planets image now. I'll have done over 30 small test renders at 2-3 hours each before I commit to the full-size render. I want to do the large one at 3200 x 1800 and see if it gets sharper when squeezed down onto my 2560 x 1440 iMac. It'll take about 200 hours, give or take.
Great to see some stuff from you.
