Smile, without a reason why. Love, as if you were a child, Smile, no matter what they tell you Don't listen to a word they say Cause life is beautiful that way. (From the film "Life Is Beautiful")
The scene was built and rendered with Terragen 2. The final image you see took over 100 hours for my iMac to render, and that's with eight data threads running simultaneously. The moons took several more patch renders to blend realistically into the sky. And the stones in the mountain is a photograph of a rock wall that's been mapped onto the terrain surface like a quilt, or tile floor.
Love the bluey-pinks here, and I think those clouds know where they're going -- they have a sense of purpose.
As I look at this, my little Mac is playing 'I Think it's Going to Rain Today' by UB40. So mellow and goes perfectly with this image.
Well, if there's going to be any rain, it will just be light, fresh snow flurries, and the sun won't disappear too quickly -- though dusk is not far away. I like the haze in the foreground -- gives me the feeling I'm right there. (Might need those splints you mention).
Thank you all. I'm happy it gets such a nice reception, I guess a lot of us like the same kind of places. Unique and remote being big pluses. The Dolomite Mountains and the Cascade Range are always in my mind when I model these landscapes, as well as the Tetons and Torres del Paine, Patagonia. Oh, and musn't forget the Southern Alps of New Zealand, what a treasure.
