A 3 cm long mantis on one of my Brazilian Starfish peppers. Taken with a Canon MP-E 65mm macro lens at 1X and ring flash assist.

One of my favorite insects, and one that I rarely see. This is one heck of an image. I wonder why he was not green to match his surroundings? This is a fave for me, I love it! tigs=^..^=

It's an insect I rarely see too. This one was spotted running around on the concrete deck and I let it have the run of one of my favorite plants. On soil or mulch it almost became invisible, so that may be it's more natural habitat, that or on tree bark. They're always interesting, no matter where you find them.

Very nice shot of this predictor. I've seen videos of them catching hummingbirds. Very good detail and composition in this image.
