Trying out a new speedlite diffuser on one of the local Skipper butterflies. It's simpler, lighter and creates better quality light than the ring flash. I'm sold.

Whatever you are using keep using it because it really works. I have not been using my macro with the ring flash as much lately in favor of long lenses and shoe flash set in high speed sync.

Thank you everyone, I really appreciate the nice comments. This little butterfly was remarkably patient and let me take about twenty shots, but would flinch every time the strobe fired. It seemed more sensitive to quick movement than the bright light and eventually zoomed away.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
