Palm leaf is most favourite food for the elephants.This elephant carriying a bundle of palm leaf by holding between his trunk and tusk. According to the mahout,300kg.palm leaf will be given to an adult elephant daily.

I know that they also like bananas and coconuts but that can become a bit too expensive :) Good shot of the elephant "just passing through".

I'm just glad I can observe and not have to pay to feed one of these hungry beasties! I know they could eat you out of house and home!

I like the way the colors fade away leaving the elephant as the center of attention. I could not afford one of these animals on my food budget! lol

I've just realised that I didn't know what elephants ate before seeing this. For some reason I think I thought it was bamboo. It's amazing to see elephants working like this, and the guy next to him smoking casually as if it was the most natural thing in the world!
