This giant rosewood tree protected by the Indian raiways is poised to celebrate its bicentenary in a few years from now. The 110-foot tall and 3.10 metre girth rosewood is now 187 years old. The shot was taken from Nilambur railway station premises.(Kerala,India)

Nice to see that the rosewood tree is protected. In Germany the trees are well protected too. You need special permission before you can cut down a tree on your own ground. There are oak trees which are over 300 years old behind our house. Nice shot, Sayed.

Nice shot. If only the tree could talk to tell us of the things it has seen.....

I love huge old trees like this also. There are quite a few in ORegon, but I went to the Redwood Forest a while back, such huge huge trees. It's too bad you couldn't have a person standing near this tree to give us some idea just how big it is.
Thanx so much for sharing this. Verena
