Great capture of such beautiful scenery. It looks sort of like Lake Tahoe. Of course, that makes sense since the two lakes or kind of close in proximity. I've only seen pictures but have always wanted to go that area of the West. I guess the water is so blue as a result of the glaciation thousands of years ago. Anyway, thanks for sharing such beauty.
Having lived in South Lake Tahoe, which is on the Nevada (Carson City) border, I learned that the blue is because of a few factors. The air is cleaner, therefore the snow runoff is not so polluted, the depth of the crater (which in one part is something close to 2000 feet deep), and a few other factors I can't remember but should.
Point being, I can believe that the water would be this blue and beautiful. What a great shot you took.
I am so glad everyone seems to be enjoying this picture! I am using my good 'ol 4 year old Kodak DX3900. I am a true believer in Kodak for amateurs like myself!
Hey there! Nice work! I love wilderness shot like this!! Its fabulous. Its cool how blue the water gets and the mountains are surrounding it. Keep up the great work! 10 out of 10!!
It's all pretty because it doesnt have any inlet or outlet streams, which i thought was pretty cool. I actually just finished something for school this morning about the conservation of it..
Anyway, Great shot. You captured it well. You're really lucky to have been able to see such a beautiful peice of earth.
