A shot of the powerful rapids in the St. Joseph River - this is a section that has been specially forked from the main river for kayakers and the likes to enjoy. I hear that it is dangerous to swim in this river due to the currents that exist and that their have been many tragic drownings - I myself have never had the desire to test it out.

I see by the fence in the background they aren't going to take the risk of someone wandering in by mistake. What an idea..to set apart a portion of the river for those of us who are daredevils and love to play on the edge of danger. Your capture says all with the wild water, agitated and frothy as it's caught up with the current. I'm with you, though. I'd be on your side of the camera waiting for some action to take place and wishing them luck..lol :) I'm going to be picky and say that the horizontal line is leaning a bit to the left, but even if that was the the angle of the ground and the way it was presented to you, I'll pass on a word of advice I recently received and that is that what is perceived in real before I take the image ...in other words, what was really there, and how I finally present the impression to the world are two different things. I think that meant that I was to try and "fix" what I saw after it came out the way I saw it ????? Anyway, if you can figure that one out, please let me know :) I think it applies here. The colors are wonderful and speak to the clarity of your post. This is an exhilerating upload and I'm glad you shared it :)PJ

I don't think I would risk it either Sandy- the water looks as though it is churning pretty good. It probably has a whirlpool effect in it making it difficult to swim in very well.Glad to see they have a fence up- but it looks as though it may need to be higher or better protected so everyone is unable to climb over and jump in.
