The Tamar Bridge is a suspension bridge in the south-west of England, carrying the A38 trunk road across the River Tamar spanning between the City of Plymouth on the east bank and the town of Saltash on the west bank.Cleveland Bridge and Engineering Company was awarded the construction contract on 19th June 1959, and the work was completed after two years and three months at a cost of £1.5 million, with up to 300 men working on the structure. The Bridge was opened to the public on 24th October 1961, and was formally opened by the Queen Mother on 26th April 1962 in a grand ceremony involving a fly-past and two naval frigates.

Well I'll tell you what. This is such a good image, with the bridges, the fog on the water, and the cloudy sky...that I had to fave it. You also get a Super Duper Award. Aren't you excited? LOL.

Many happy memories revived for me as a customs officer along the cornish coast. Queues over the bridge were a real start to the day when the fog was in and going over into Cornwall was always a joy! Beautiful shot! +tmy+

Very nice shot m8t. :o)
I hope this bridge is in a better state than the 1st Severn crossing. :o(. Hey it's good to see old Kingdom Brunels bridge running alongside it too .. He was a brilliant engineer who made a big impact across the entire country as we both know

I have a vested interest in this bridge. My sister lives on the other side, in Saltash. In fact if I zoom in really close.....

You got good light on the bridge and the fog is something else. Great shot!

Wow! That's a really awesome shot! Caught this on the front page. I'm really impressed with the composition, the angle you shot from. The lighting is fantastic too! The bridge appearing to float above the fog really makes this shot :) Impressed again!

Great shot of the bridge, love the angle you took it from! And the skies and the fog pushed the shot to the tops. Well done!
