"A real pub with a fine restaurant and splendid accommodation” West Devon; one of life’s best kept secrets, where the weather can be one coat colder but the welcome is always warm, and the clock is definitely one hour slower – stop, rest and enjoy! Bearslake Inn is believed to date back to the 13th century. The main building is a traditional thatched Devon longhouse; originally a working farm. Once inside you will find a traditional Public Bar offering a range of quality real ales, many from the local area and wines and spirits from around the world. There is also a lounge bar where families are very welcome and you can sit and enjoy the log fires. The interior of the property oozes ‘olde worlde’ charm and character with a wealth of exposed beams and timbers, natural flagstone floors, low ceilings (“mind your head”) and traditional small windows. To the rear of the property is a large garden with views up to High Willhayes and Yes Tor, two of the highest peaks on Dartmoor.

I wish there were places that looked like that around here. That is a very cool shot of that pub. It looks like it would have a down home feel to it inside.

Perfect place for a lazy weekend lunch. There are some burnt out bits here but I envy you the weather that produced them!! You certainly caught the texture in the thatch and the atmosphere of the place. Hope all's well with you pal.

Oh wow! I'd eat here even if I wasn't hungry, just to enjoy the ambiance of this wonderful setting. I love thatched roof stone houses and would gladly trade my log house for one of those. Great shot, Mark!
