Another mix of my pictures, this one a little more simple. I sharpened both drawings in Photoshop, my scanner isn't really the best in the world, and removed the lines as best I could from the hands at the bottom right (it was drawn quickly on notebook paper to see if I could do it, with my younger brother modeling). I tried adding a border but couldn't find any color that would be suitable for what I'm trying to portray, mainly a Christian teen's doubts, hopes, and rebellions. I apologize if the picture comes across as "gothic", I promise it was made by an average teenager. :) I drew the prayer hand at the bottom right hand corner and carved the big one in middle a year ago for my art class. Yesterday I got some good pencils to draw with, and methinks I'm going to start drawing again...right after the AP exams. As always suggestions on improvement is appreciated. G-d bless, sc

Ok - not really my kind of thing but it's a good piece of work. The hand gives a nice perspective and depth to the picture, though I'm not sure what is hiding behind it. The lines and dots give an interesting texture. I think the black/white works well - a coloured picture would be too busy.
And finally ... yes - definetly get back to drawing.

How do you Know I'm Mad? I must be, otherwise you wouldn't have come here.

What I really like about this illustration is the fact that there isn't much place for gray, only for white-and-black without much shade. I think that would spoil the picture. The thing I'd try to skip though would be the excess of lines (especially on the hand) which make your image a little chaotic. I think that single outlines would leave a much more better, mainly clearer effect.

i really like how scratchy it is and yet how it really depicts what is going on.

The scratches on the hand make me a bit nervous.
They probably mean absolutely nothing still makes me nervous.
to me this seems to be an angry image.
