Aww, cute. He looks like he could beg anything out of me. I love the lighting, though I think the image would've been nicer if it had been a little sharper.

TJ looks like a keeper to me, him AND his pic! You caught him in a wonderful pose...those of us who live with dogs have seen that expression before! I think you might try dropping the brightness a little because you are getting blowout on the top of the pic (which isn't always awful) and some color distortion on the top of his head (which you might not want). Looks like you were in sunshine with TJ's face in shadow. Try sitting down, see if you can get a more even light on his face that way...although I suppose a licked camera lens could apply a distortion you might not want! Also try for a larger resolution if you can next time...so you can maintain sharpness at other sizes. Good start, and post some more!

Too cute! But a little too close, his face covers my desktop...If you would give him a little background,I think, it would look much nicer. :)

I think close ups require softer lighting - I agree with the suggestion above to give a short depth of field but a little more background.
