This is a picture I took this summer at my parents house of their yard and pond. I went in and did a few effects in photoshop.

A really nice scene Sara and the the light and shadows are great. You might have overdone the effects but photoshop is no piece of cake. I still don't understand itl. You are on the right site to learn.

I truly look forward to your next post.

This would look really good inside a picture frame. Then hang it in the living room or the dining.

Good job!

You have a good foundation in this image. You used the tree at left as a framing element that allows the viewer to direct his attention into the frame. The building at right serves a similar purpose. Now the Rule of Thirds would have served you well here, because you could have placed elements (like the fence) at critical locations within the image. The fencepost with a can is probably the most important element in the entire image due to its high albedo, so its placement would be critical. I suggest you visit the Rules Of Composition (see above) periodically as I do about once a month. It really helps me a lot. Cheers, Sara. I look forward to seeing more of your stuff.
