I have some very good memories from this road. I road the school bus down this road for about 10 years, I can still hear the laughter of my friend and I fooling around on the bus. I also have memories of my friends and I joy riding down this road after we were old enough to drive! Thought I would share those memories along with the shot! :)

I really like the B/W shot of Green Road SS. It has a certain irony. I like how the mind is lead into the abyss.
Good post.

Huh, how did I miss this one? B&W certainly sets the tone here. The focus is good, the depth nice. The sky is a bit bland, or perhaps overexposed a hair.

Two suggestions. I bet that new camera of yours has a setting for exposure. Find it and play with it. Take a shot at regular exposure, then step it down 1/3, then 2/3 and see what a difference it makes in your skies. Be careful no to go to nuts and lose the detail in the shadows (a particular weakness on my own shots). Second...get down. Literally. If you can do it without getting run over. Go back to this same spot, but get on your knees or even lay prone and shoot that way. the road willappear much wider. I'm betting you can get it to the point where the road starts at each corner of the picture, which will really draw the viewer into the scene. Check out the train tracks here for an example of what I mean about the corners.

Again, Sara, I see some forethought put into this one. Compositionally your work has improved immensely from your first posts. A little tweaking here and there will go a long, long way with a shot set up as nicely as this one.

And...thanx for the stroll down memory lane. Your narrative took me back to those days myself...many, many moons ago for a guy like me!
