"The Cool Green Hills of Earth" is the title of a science fiction short story by Robert Heinlein, who also wrote a poem of the same title. The first line of that poem is "Let the sweet fresh breezes heal me" and the entire poem is here: http://www.cs.rice.edu/~ssiyer/minstrels/poems/241.html I was up at sunrise one morning driving around the back roads of King George County, Virginia when I saw this little cornfield. The first line of Heinlein's poem is perfect for that moment...the air, the light, the morning. And those storm clouds blew away 10 minutes after I shot this pic. I used a touch of HDR on this one...and I hope you like the result!

Beautifully composed. I like the cornfield, oh the memories. But I am drawn to the surrounding countryside even more. I love the cloudy morning skies. Saved.

Incredible and dramatic Sharon! The light makes a glow in those rolling clouds and your HDR work is just great! The title is perfect and so is this capture! :)Ami

"...and I hope you like the result!"

Wellllll ... long story short ...

Had your image here bookmarked since your upload/posting. And .. *sigh* .. with apologies ... finally got to your image's page here to place some words.

Very nice work, Sharon. Judicious use of HDR ... and well-composed.

Caveats?

None really. Some minor nit picking at best.

Tripod used?

Or, perhaps some of the details ... some (emphasis on this word) ... have been lost due to the process involved.

Really nice work ... and a good good shot.

You captured something special with this one, and I enjoy it ... whatever 'it' may be ... very much. (That lil something extra, you know? And sometimes it is nice to just ... let an image speak for itself, rather than me try to put 'it' into words.)

Thanks for sharing this one with us. :o)

+favs.

p.s. Hope my words here find you well on the mend, if not mended. :o)
