This is another view of the black and white carriage I previously posted. I like this view better except that the far door jam looks crooked. It IS crooked. So is just about everything else on that building. :) It just kills me to see this carriage left outside in all weather and to see it falling apart a little more each year.

From your photo Sharon, I can tell that the leather seat is deteriorating and the front wooden cowling is splitting apart. Once this kind of wear becomes evident the artifact goes downhill pretty quickly. Perhaps the owner would donate it to a local historical society, someone who could restore and exhibit it properly, or is this place where it's kept a small museum run by locals? If so, they're certainly not taking proper care of it—I know of what I speak. If it went somewhere reputable, I'm sure you and others would miss seeing it here but at least you'd know it was safe.

This is typical american carriage. Interesting image and I believe the above is a good suggestion.
Thanks for sharing this part of America.

Interesting... viewing the B/W version first I did notice the lines and textures of the carriage more. But I find this color version more visually appealing with the complimenting color tones of the building. I would love to see it restored. Thank you for sharing it.

I like the different angle on this one and have to agree the textures and lines seem to have more detail ion the B&W~but this one is a lovely shot and presentation! Two very different captures of the same carriage produce some interesting results! Like them both for different reasons. :)Ami

Yep...I just had this in the VB too...I gave it a 10! I love all the different wood textures and lines. Now I need to go back in and find the black and white version. Great post!

10/10 VB just now, outstanding and unique in its own right! You really did well with this one! rustic and beautiful would make for a great b/w.

~~~~~~~Photographematis de Deus Facturae ~~~~~~~~. IF I VOTE ON YOUR IMAGE YOU WILL RECEIVE A 10/10. Why? Because every capture of life around us or artificial generation of color and lines is unique and special.
Amazing how our ideas of what a car should be have changed over the years. How many horse power would this one have been?
Hello Sharon....This is a very good closeup of the carriage and the building showing plenty of detail....It is a shame to see these old modes of transport being left to the elements...Well done....All the best to you Sharon.....................Mick.
