This is the gate to a side yard of Kenmore Plantation in Fredericksburg, VA. Kenmore was built by Fielding Lewis and his wife, Betty (who was George Washington's sister). The house is known for the beauty of its interior, particularly the decorative plaster ceilings. I love the grounds, which are maintained in what is thought to be the original landscaping. I take all my out-of-town visitors here. Thanks for coming to take a look.

This is very beautiful and it can be seen two ways. For a pleasant beauty and a haunting beauty. Matter of fact I was reminded of the original movie of the haunting. When she first drives up to the gate of the amazing mansion.:) If I ever get to visit Virginia again I'll be sure to give this place a look. Thanks for posting.
