Interesting stuff. It's technically a bit rougher then some of you other works (not that I could ever do anything like this) but I like the mood in this one. It's another good strong piece from you. Kudos!
Great work from you, Katie...I wonder how you did this ?
However, this is a really interesting and unique concept and it caught my attention from the first moment I saw it as a thumbnail. I think every viewer will have it's own interpretation of your picture...it really needs to be watched carefully at full size...there is a lot to discover.
This is a very nice and interesting piece of art, Katie...keep up the good work.
AWWW jeez, there go whinning about life again...Gurl you know I love it! Very different in composition than you other works but all you AND you said you don't read into pictures as much as I do...Well this piece looks like you spent a ton of mental energy to produce...A very well thoughtout, executed and thought provoking work here. dAVE
P.s. I'm still searching for a spidery flowing cape ; )
Dark ... provocative... psychological. This is really a painfully lovely bit of work! I'm not sure how I feel about the pins (?) in the backgroud (don't ask me what I would do differently, because I'm not entirely sure); but the distortion in and around the face is really what makes it so disturbing for me. Couple that with the stitches (pins?) stuck in the wings and body, and you have a great image. Do keep posting more for us, please!
Is there anything more beautiful than a beautiful, beautiful flamingo, flying across in front of a beautiful sunset? And he's carrying a beautiful rose in his beak, and also he's carrying a very beautiful painting with his feet. And also, you're drunk.

by far my favorite of yours Katie. I must agree that it conveys a message very well without words. You obviously have something to say - and whether some like it or not - you are saying it well - better and better as you go along. this is my kind of art - something with a message. keep it up.
Really lovely Katie. It's disturbing while at the same time it draws the viewer in to look more deeply. What more can we ask of art? The blue of the wings makes me think about why it's the only color in the image, and I guess that's what you were hoping to achieve. The stitches are brilliant, and make me think of pain and dislocation forced into coexistance. Good work here.
