It dosent matter where you are in the world, the sparrows are there with you waiting for any morsel of food that you may drop or are willing to give them. This was taken in Queenstown NZ

Great shot of hungry sparrows, I have doubts about the half color an B&W , to me its a good shot, but all color would be better

Hi John, you are right, sparrows are everywhere :-)
I like how you captured them in a cluster.
I am not sure that the partial desaturation works well. The viewer's eye is drawn to the moving sparrows on in the color portion of the image and they will miss the bits of bread in the sweet birds mouth in the desat portion on the right.
I really applaud your effort at showing us something different and the stop action photography!
Thanks for sharing this with us!

John - I am with Mimi and Steve regarding the partial desaturation. As with Mimi, new and creative techniques are encouraged. Thad

Interesting shot. My eyes didn't pick up on the color/b&w effect but once noticed it didn't really detract much. The birds are better there than on a wire over top of my car.

Things are more like they are now than they ever were before.

Be happy with the sparrows here in Holland we do not see them much anymore. Nice picture the partial desaturation is for me no problem creativity is always welcome.

The reason why the sunsets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
