While sitting at a local pond a pair of swans chased this cygnet and it landed not far from me, as me and Dylan sat by the pond the young swan crept closer allowing me to take this picture, Im sure he was looking for food. Gear used:- Sony A200 dslr, Minolta 70-210 F4 (beercan) f6.3 iso 100 shutter 1/320.

Holy moly ... very impressive quality here, Bri.

If I may be bold, think some ('some' being the operative word here) adjustment is needed insofar as the DOF is concerned. F-stop, aperture.

The clarity on the cygnet's under belly/chest and that of the grass below and on the same focal plane (amazing, by the way) compared to it's neck ... leads me to think this.

Simple composition ... works well.

Nice shot. :o)

And but of course, thank you for sharing this one with us. :o)

p.s. Model and make of camera? Lens? Your image here is a good advertisement for their collective quality and colour reproduction. Truly.

I love swans and this is an excellent photo of a young swan. I like the low angle a lot, it makes the swan look very impressive. Wonderful light and the details are excellent.
Love it! Saved&Faved!

Didn't know that cygnet could be this color. He's such a handsome young man! Great job on it. The lighting and angle on this is very nicely done.

Oooh, pretty bUuurdy... I like the perspective that you had here: his feet hidden in the grass really give a sense that he's close.
