Was going to entitle it, Four Drumsticks, but the fourth is pretty well hidden. They grow wild throughout the woods, and rocky places.

Very nice Doug, a great capture of a very vibrant flower, perfectly contrasted against the blurred background.

A lovely capture. The red flower stands out so nicely against the green background. Very nicely done. I like it!

I too love how the grass blades are mostly all pointing in the same direction...makes a very interesting and pretty background for this beautiful flower. Wonderful closeup!

I like the way that background follows the flower... There is also the contrast of the colors which is givin` the accent on the flower... Nice :)

A striking capture that almost gives the effect of rain due to the angle of everything -including the flower.
Well done!

Thanks John. I think it's just the weight of the flower, as they all appear that way, when in full bloom. Understandable though, with all the grass appearing to be beaten down, as well.

This is so pretty. The faded background and the DOF on these flowers are great.

Another wow! The brilliant red stands out so well against the green. I love the way the tilt of the blossom is reinforced by the "swept back" look of the grass. Also impressive are the focusing and sharpness exemplified by the tiny hairs on the stem.
