Another of the giant Saguaros of Southern Arizona. They frequently reach the age of 200 years, and provide housing for a number of desert birds. When they bloom, it's but a single blossom, at the very top.
A great shot Doug. I love the angle used..... gives you an idea on how tall these Saguaros really are. The cactus stands out nicely against the beautiful blue sky. Nice composition.... well done.
Howdy from Arizona - good shot from a different angle! However, they each do get many, many flowers, on the top and on arms, sometimes a foot or more down from the tips. I have one such in my caedes portfolio. This time of year here, sometimes I wish I was in Ontario!
I really like this one Doug. Great composition and that sky is awesome. I do however have one problem with it. Old deadwood in the lower left corner looks as though he's trying to get into the picture. Sometimes this adds character to the composition but for some reason he bothers me. :-)
