Another in a series of large boulder photographs, taken in Joshua Tree National Park, South Eastern California. The park straddles the Mohave (North) and Sonoran (South) deserts, providing a unique diversity, in plant and animal life. The boulders, on the other hand, don't seem to care where they ended up.

The light and textures of the boulders form a wonderful contrast to the misty blue mountains and sky. A beautiful post.

Doug, I'm awestruck by the detail in the mountains in the background. There's virtually no blur to the various ridges. The texture and colors of the foreground boulders are crisp and clear.

I love the low and wide angle Doug. Lovely foreground details too.

I really like the layers in this photo Doug, those ancient boulders up front to the out cropping in the center, to the blue mountains and sky. Again you make me want to travel there. Nice One.

superb DOF and detail. the lighting is also very good. so is the low angle of the shot. it's good to see that you can get down so low.

This is wonderful, it's very warming to look at! You can almost reach out and touch the rocks. I particularly like the contrast between warm gold and cool blue. It's a touch oversharpened, but the clouds are lovely and smooth. There's life in this photo. :-)
