This is Blue's predecessor, who was my constant companion for over twelve years. In that time he managed to swim in the Atlantic, Pacific, and crossed the Rio Grande to Mexico and back (less than 100 feet, both ways):-).

Quite wonderfully done. The angle on the shot makes Zulu look like he towers over a miniscule landscape. Really fine color and contrast as well.

Wow! what a great image! I love everything about this photo. Of course in any portrait it is as the saying goes: "The eyes have it." And they are very clearly presented here.

When I saw this shot before I viewed it at full size, I thought that there might be a power line the background, thus giving me something to critique.

I love and know dogs. Zulu has that look about him that radiates love, curiosity and devotion. Even with Blue at your side, I'm sure you still miss him.

If I saw this in the VB (which is still non-functioning), I would award it my first 10. Perfection.

Zulu is a handsome boy & sounds like he was a world traveler too. I love his golden brown eyes. You know how much I love Black Labs so this one is saved & faved. A beautiful portrait, Doug.

A most impessive portrait of your old friend Doug. He looks a lovely dog and bears a great resemblance to one of my family's dear departed black labs who was called Kenya.
Nice post and faved by me :)

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . What a great shot. Fantastic dog photograph. Obviously, you were downhill from Zulu. Were you using a long lens. Very nice post work on this one!

What a great shot Doug. Roger (palral) pointed out it is his favorite dog shot on Caedes. I have to agree.
