My apologies for deleting my original post of this image. It's been there a long time and among my first attempts at digital editing.I've been unhappy with it for years and finally added some color to the sky.
I'm not sure what to say, Doug. But you know me - I'll come up with something. It won't be as lyrical and articulate as Ed's comments, but I'll do my best to get my point across.
I thought that your posting "Zulu" was one of the best shots I'd ever seen on Caedes. But this image is dazzling. Long before I bought a camera and starting posting on Caedes, I used to visit a decade or so ago and download images. I started with a single desktop photo and gradually added a hundred plus shots as a screen saver slide show. The folks at work would wander into my office and would ask me about this shot or that as the images rolled by, and I would mention Caedes.
Without a doubt in my tiny mind, this is the single best shot I have ever seen on Caedes. The mystical look of the trees, the textures on the foreground water, the ghostly manipulation of the colors in the background, the grab you by the collar autumn colors of the tree far right complimented by the single red leaf floating in the water, the organic shapeliness of the trees in the mid-background, the oneness depicted between the spiritual world and that of Mother Nature's and the overall balance and composition. I am awe struck by this posting. While your "Zulu" posting was as close to a 10 as I've seen, this shot surpasses "Zulu" exponentially.
I cannot adequately critique perfection. While I'm not as verbose as Brandon, I hope I've expressed myself adequately.
Every once in a while I come across an image that grabs me by the lapels, hauls me up off my feet, and says, "Now clap your eyes on this!" Here is an example of that. As striking as it is I will nevertheless permit myself one little critique: It features all three primary colors in powerful doses. If one of those hues were adjusted toward one of the others I think the color scheme might interconnect a bit better. The black on the left and at bottom is a great way to accent the colors.
