Just before sunrise this morning, though it was overcast anyway... the beaver pond was calm, and I got a few shots. Thought I'd add a border from my Clouds folder to supplement those in the reflection. It's not quite as hectic viewed large.

well well, that's kind of intruiging and delusive....but nethertheless absolutly brilliant, a "magical moment" was said, indeed it is....

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

Your knack for postwork is nothing short of superb for this beautiful image, and the color tones, and textutes are very nice.

Hi, Doug...

This one is a beauty. The only standing water around here is Atascadero Lake which is why all of my reflection shots are starting to look the same.

I know this is just a matter of personal preference. Lately I seem to be the odd man out, but I think you took a great shot and mucked (note that I used an "m" and not the preferred "f") it up with the cloud border. I think the clouds diminish the effectiveness of the image especially in the foreground where the reeds look watered down and poorly cloned. I'm looking at the image and scratching my head to try to understand what you were thinking. Obviously you thought the clouds improved the image.

I would love to see the original without the funky (note that I used an "n" and not the preferred "c" and a "y" instead of the preferred "ed up") border. Looks like it would have been spectacular with great reflections, perfect clarity and sharpness and wonderful depth and colors.

Doug - Though I may agree with RogDot regarding the clouds, I like the experimentation. A thought would be to tinker with the opacity and fill on the clouds layer. The beaver pond scene is beautiful. Thad

I guess it's a matter of preference but I LOVE the cloud border you added here. It made me look twice because at first glance I was trying to figure out where the 'steam' was coming from, lol! A fun bit of play and a good idea since it matched the natural clouds already in the reflection. I would however liked to have seen the dark spot on the left filled in a bit more. But I like this image none-the-less :)

My main complaint is the dark area in the upper left corner, it seems out of place. A creative idea for the border. Nice layering work, I like the irregularity of the border instead of a "straight" vignetting effect. A interesting looking photo as well. Nice colours and textures in the photo.

I must admit the cloud border made me take a closer look at this when I saw it in the featured images Doug. It really jumps off the screen. I like the experimentation.
There is a white object almost dead center that is distracting for me.
The reflections from the beaver pond would definitely get a big slap on the water.
