This shot would be much improved with an improvised cloud border :-). Seriously, I like this image. Great colors and reflections. I see that you've offset the beaver house. A friend once told me that centering the subject is the last best alternative. I'm sure you already tried this but on my monitor I'd say that it needs about half a click of negative contrast.
Hope the mods don't see this. I believe that the Caedes code of ethics prohibits beaver shots.
The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
Definitely not something we get to witness very often, actually I have never seen one in person ;) I like this but I think I might like it better if much of the bottom water was cropped out in order to draw your eye to the main subject. Although the foreground looks nice it seems to draw my eye away. Curious to see what it might look like in B&W too... just mu humble opinion)Great find and glad you shared :)
Best to grab these shots when you can because they often times like to move on. I like the purple hues to this shot and the house offset. The reflections are pretty.
Very nice reflections and colours in the photo, Doug. I hope the Beavers had the proper permits to construct their home or there will be a dozen government departments demanding the dismantlement of the site. A great looking scene.
That foreground to that lodge really makes this photo pop. A place we stay at has a creek area where our friend builds and maintains his lodge. So this sure brought back a sweet memory.
